Here in Benin we don’t have stable electricity, so we use various types of voltage regulators to protect our electronics from power spikes. The regulators can be big or small. You need to be aware of the size of the fuse in each one so you don’t plug things like irons into regulators rated for only 500 watts.
We Christians are like electronics plugged into God, the biggest Regulator of all. He makes sure the challenges that come our way aren’t too high-voltage so we are not burned up. He said that thousands shall fall at our right hand and ten thousand at our left, but destruction won’t come near our dwelling. Those who fall are not plugged into the Regulator. He will protect His children, but we need to stay plugged in to Him.
Why am I thinking about voltage regulators right now? Because, as I write, we are in the middle of a very large storm with lots of lightening, and I am thankful that I am plugged in to the Regulator who controls even the bolts of lightning.
(By the way, I am not relying on my earthly regulators to protect my electronics. I have unplugged everything.)—Suzy Baldwin
