Onward, Forward

As I write this, I am on the cusp of finally entering my place of ministry. The path to this point has been long and hard, but God has shown Himself mighty where my faith was weak. My heart has often wavered in fear, tempted to give up and tell God to send someone else, yet I have always found His everlasting arms beneath me. Through a Red Sea of difficulties, opposition, deficits and doubt, God opened the way and supplied the need. Like manna, His tokens of grace fall each day, pressing me forward and reminding me that His call for me did not begin in my heart, but in His.

Onward, forward to fulfill the prayers that have been waiting too long.

Onward, forward on our knees into enemy territory, knowing that only faith can bring down the ancient strongholds.

Onward, forward we go by faith and not by sight. I know not what battles, tears and struggles lie ahead, but I know in whom I believe. Christ is our Captain who knows no failure. He will be our sun and shield. His words will be our sword. His gospel of peace shall be our footing.

Onward, forward on His prophetic word that will not return unto Him void. He has called us to be His witnesses in all the world, and then the end shall come.

Onward, forward, for what other direction is there to go? Christ has already won the victory.

Until we help fulfill the desire of the ages that all God’s children may have a chance to hear of a Father’s love, until all know of their crucified Savior, until we reach the heavenly Promised Land, we must and shall go onward and forward.
