Perfect Peace

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths” (Prov. 3:5,6).

If I would always do this, life would be much simpler. I have caused myself needless worry by taking decisions into my own hands rather than seeking His guidance in everything.

When I learned that we would be going to Amazing Facts College of Evangelism, I thought it would delay us too much. I thought our training wouldn’t be applicable to our mission in Albania, that it would be an unnecessary expense. I was wise in my own eyes, leaning on my own understanding, but I thought I was just being logical and reasonable. After fretting and worrying about it for months, I finally surrendered the situation to God. At last, I had sweet peace.

Now that we have been at AFCOE for two months, I can see God’s wisdom in sending us here. We are learning so much, but not all of what we’ve learned has been in the classroom. The field work has been an awesome experience in depending on God and pouring ourselves out in prayer and work for lost souls. AFCOE has really stoked the fire in our hearts for soulwinning.

Praise God for His patience with me. He knows what I need so much better than I do.

Is there something keeping you from having peace in your heart? Isaiah 26:3 says, “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
