Something Missing

“Where there is no vision the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he” (Prov. 29:18).

The other day, Nasa saw his elderly uncle sitting in the shade of a thatched-roof hut in the middle of Kotale village with several other old men and heard him complaining about the plight of the local evangelical church. This uncle said he regularly attended Sunday services and listened to the pastors’ sermons. “But,” he lamented, “the pastors and church leaders don’t know where they are going. They don’t have any direction.” He suggested to the other village elders that they get together more often to discuss the issue and come up with a solution.

The first step in coming to Christ is realizing one’s need. This man, along with the pastors and church he spoke of, have heard of Christ, but they are still missing something. Could it be that we have what they need? Do we have the light they are missing? Please pray that we will recognize opportunities and respond appropriately.
