When the soil is hard, when people are resistant to the gospel, we have found that it is much easier to reach the children. But sometimes we are tempted to think that reaching children is not as important as reaching adults, and we are not satisfied. However, this thought is shortsighted. Here is the testimony of a young man, a university student with a strong Christian faith and promising leadership skills, who used to be in my Children’s Sabbath School class and then in my youth class.
While he was home for summer vacation, he had this to say to the teenagers in the youth Sabbath school class: “All the way through primary school, I didn’t know how to read, and I didn’t want to learn, until I came to Tanti’s Sabbath School class. It was in her class that I was encouraged to learn how to read and study the lesson. Then I applied the techniques I learned in her class in school, and it brought me all the way to the BAC (the secondary school diploma). I encourage you to study your Sabbath School lessons and participate in the discussion. Take advantage of the teachings. What you learn here will equip you for life!”
All I could say after his little speech was “Amen!”
