It was 5:30 a.m. Sunday morning, and I was up and ready to go help Chumpri build the student missionary house! More than four months ago, when we asked Chumpri and Kaak if they would be interested in hosting two student missionaries from South Africa, they were elated, and they started making plans to build another house on their property.
I stopped by to pick up Sabay before heading out to the village. Before beginning construction, Chumpri, Kaak, Sabay and I had a prayer of dedication for the new house. They wanted Chief God to be there instead of any other spirits.
With a small group of men helping, we were able to get the framework put up in good time. We spent the rest of the day nailing the main support beams in place. It was really good that Sabay was there to help, because it strengthened his relationship with Chumpri.
We are excited to have two student missionaries coming this year from South Africa. Fundraising is proving a challenge for them because this kind of mission work is a relatively new and unknown to potential supporters in South Africa. Please pray for God’s blessing on the two young ladies as they raise funds and preparing to come.* Pray that God will work in their hearts and prepare them for the ministry He has for them here.
