$1,000 a month! Had I read that text message correctly? I did a double-take. Yep, that’s what it said! I kept reading: “So congratulations! You have met the fundraising requirements to attend AFM summer training.”

I could hardly believe it. A couple of months ago, our supervisor suggested that we start praying for the Lord to send us a major monthly supporter. As I looked at that text message, I was seeing the answer to that prayer.

Just the day before, I had sat down with my calculator to figure out how much we needed to raise that month to meet the April 1 deadline for acceptance into AFM’s 2020 summer training program. The number was $916. Clearly not a problem for God! A year ago when we began this journey into missions, Midori and I prayed over and over again that the Lord would give us an experience to share that would give glory to Him, build our faith, and show others His incredible power. In Psalms 67:1, David asks for God’s blessings to shine upon Him. Then he gives the reason for his request in verse 2: “That your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations.” David wasn’t praying that God would bless him for his own benefit, but that all the world might know the saving power of God!

I invite you to pray David’s prayer with me. As you seek to show God’s ways to the nations, He will give you an experience that will bring glory to His name and build your faith. We have been humbled by the generosity of God’s people. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers and support!
