Last night I woke up at 2 a.m. from a dream. But it wasn’t the dream that woke me up. I felt that God had awoken me to pray. I didn’t know whom I was supposed to pray for, so I prayed for everyone who had been in my dream. Then I continued with other prayer requests I knew about. Sometime after 3 a.m., after reading a bit from the Bible, I prayed for rest and healing from the cold I was fighting, and I fell asleep again.
Frequently, God wakes me up at night to pray. Sometimes I know what I need to pray about, and sometimes I don’t, but I pray anyway. We are in the midst of an invisible war that rages around us. Satan and his demons are constantly trying to destroy the children of God, but when the power of darkness comes in like a flood, the spirit of God lifts up a standard against him (Isa. 59:19). Praise the Lord that the battle isn’t ours; it’s His. He will protect His children. Don’t forget to keep your eyes on Jesus the completer and finisher of our faith who already destroyed the works of the Devil.

Amen! I have been awaken many times as well and I am impressed that God is wanting me to pray. I have been trying to be more responsive to His voice. I’m so glad you shared your story because it encouraged me. God bless you!
