The Dedication

“Do you know of any other Seventh-day Adventist Church in India that has such a beautiful location and incredible view?” I asked Pastor Kujur.

“No,” he said, “I haven’t visited any church like this before. It is a real blessing from God that our believers can worship here.”

From the sanctuary of the Darjeeling Seventh-day Adventist Church, Kanchenjunga, the third tallest mountain in the world, can be seen towering majestically over the Darjeeling hills as a reminder of God’s creative power and glory.

On November 17, 2013, Pastor J.M. Kujur, President of the North Bengal Section of Seventh-day Adventists, officiated in the dedication of the newly renovated Darjeeling Seventh-day Adventist Church building.

We were blessed to have more than 60 believers from the surrounding hill stations as well as many Hindu and Buddhist friends and family members come to worship and celebrate this special day with us.

Our sister, Ushna Lepcha, was the first person to be baptized in our brand new baptismal pool. Several of our church members were also ordained as deacons and deaconesses. It’s good to see that our church is continuing to grow and mature in the faith.

We greatly appreciate your prayers and support that have helped us realize the vision of establishing a thriving Seventh-day Adventist Church presence among the Gorkha people of Darjeeling, India.
