The Father Draws

Image for The Father Draws

No one can come to Me (Jesus) unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day. It is written in the prophets, and they shall be taught of God. Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. John 6:44, 45

What his verse says to me: no one can come to Jesus unless our Heavenly Father draws him. And the Father will teach them so they do come to Jesus.

Where does the missionary fit in here? We are the humble instruments used by God to show the way to Jesus. We don’t do the drawing or the impressing of the Gospel upon the heart.

Understood correctly this verse can take a lot of stress off the shoulders of the missionaries. The responsibility of the sinner’s coming to Jesus lies with the Father. He is much more capable than me anyway!

Just a thought,

David Hicks

***** & Edie,

What a beautiful peaceful scene to go with the deep insight of God’s great promise… Truly He will draw His own… Thank you for responding to His call..

Dear Heavenly Father, Creator of all. Bless ***** & Edie on this Your special day… Continue to lead them, prepare them, for service among the AMA people… Amen

PS… I cannot help but think that AMA in Portuguese means Love… Truly God loves these people dearly!

Hi ***** and Edie,
Thankyou for your willingness to go serve the Ama people. I am about the same age as the Lello’s daughter(s) and I was devastated when they died. Thankyou again, and may God bless you.

Hi Abigail,
I am sure glad that you have taken the time to read my post and to think that you are 9 years old! God bless you!

I also was very sad when I heard that John Lello died. I cried a lot. However I want you to know that I have visited the Lello daughters just a few weeks ago. Even though they miss their daddy very much I saw them playing and having fun. I saw them with smiles on their faces and even laughing.

I believe that Jesus is helping them to live through a very tough time in their life. Jesus is living in their hearts.

Please keep reading!

God bless,

***** Hicks

Thank you nurseJeanne for your message. I’m glad to go serve the Lord with the people of Ama.
You are right, in Portuguese Ama means love.
Take care,
Edie Hicks
