The Lost Sheep

The sky was growing darker as we walked back to rejoin our group beside the quarry. We had come out to spend some time in nature at Phanom Suwai on a beautiful Sabbath afternoon.

Paa Nit had suggested we take a walk somewhere new and explore a little. So we had set off. Coming to a rocky area that was marked as a waterfall, several of the group climbed down. At first, I was reluctant to follow with my three little ones in tow, but eventually I realized that the ones who had gone before had definitely found a way through.

Paa Nit, however, had strong reservations and said she would go back to our spot by the quarry by the way we had come. She was the only one to turn back.

Now, with the sun setting, the rest of us returned but found that Paa Nit had not made it back yet. Shannon decided she would go and search for her. She was able to reach Paa Nit on her cell phone, and eventually they were able to hear each other’s voices and meet. As they headed back together, Paa Nit was very thankful Shannon had found her. She said she had been quite frightened, but she had prayed and asked God to help her. “I was like the lost sheep, and now I am found!” she said.

Paa Nit is a member of our church here in Surin. She is still growing and developing in her Christian faith. The rest of her family is Buddhist, and she longs for them to come to know Jesus as she knows Him. She knows that they are lost sheep who need the Good Shepherd.

Not only Paa Nit’s family, but the people of Thailand as a whole are lost—stranded on the hills of sin with no hope, not knowing that Jesus is searching for them.

Please pray for the people of Thailand. Please pray for Paa Nit’s family! Thank you so much for your prayers and support that make it possible for us to be here searching for Jesus’ lost sheep.
