“Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, . . .” (Luke 11:2).
With these first words of the Lord’s Prayer, we honor our Creator/Father and pray for His eternal kingdom to reign over our world. But in praying, do we believe? Do we set forth a true reliance on God in all that we do? Do we have enough foresight to take the time, to devote our means to help “Thy kingdom come”? During our life, we choose how and whom these resources will support; but what happens when we no longer have a choice?
Creating a will that will stand up in court is our privilege today. Allocating God’s resources to His cause though a will can continue to bear witness to our priorities. If we neglect this issue, many of God’s resources will not fulfill their high calling. Satan sees the minimal attention given to the allocation of our property and works to keep us otherwise engaged. Thus, because of Satan’s vigilant work, we fail
to prepare.
God has given us a sacred duty to be stewards of the means He has entrusted to us. We have the joyful obligation to offer a tribute of loyalty to the plan of God, both while we are living and in our passing. Having a will in place will not only help your family know your wishes but will also allow you to play an active part in your own prayer, “Thy kingdom come.”
