Greetings from Sitka, Alaska, where I have been appointed pastor of the local Seventh-day Adventist Church. This is an amazing answer to many prayers. Needing temporary employment while wanting practical opportunities to hone skills needed in the mission field, we prayed, and God answered! One of the skills that will get ample honing involves radio. I have been asked to record a regular devotional thought for the local Adventist radio station, which will also be turned into a podcast.

How long I remain pastor in Sitka is up to you, dear reader. We need roughly 70 percent of our monthly and launching goals by mid-April in order to participate in AFM’s summer training. We dearly want that to be the summer of 2020! Due to pastoral responsibilities, our ability to actively fundraise is limited. But God is not limited!

The truth about our limitless God is something that Job learned in dramatic fashion. He suffered keenly. Not only did he lose all of his wealth, but his children died, and he was covered in painful boils. His wife and friends only added insult to injury. In the midst of his suffering, Job cried out, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and He shall stand at last on the earth; and after my skin is destroyed, this I know, that in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another” (Job 19:25–27). Faith! Living faith in an almighty God of love.

Later in the book, Job says to God, “I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted” (Job 42:2 ESV). God spoke similar words to Abraham when He told the father of the faithful that 90-year-old Sarah would have a baby. “Is anything too hard for the LORD?” When Mary questioned how a virgin could conceive, the angel answered, “With God, nothing will be impossible.” Paul also encouraged the Philippian believers, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phil. 4:13). God is not limited! “Prayer is the key in the hand of faith to unlock heaven’s storehouse, where are treasured the boundless resources of Omnipotence” (Steps to Christ p. 94).
