Just in case you haven’t heard…we made it to AFM summer training! We thank God and each of you who made this miracle possible. We are in the middle of our fourth week already and have been immensely enjoying our time here. Most days we feel like we are trying to drink from a fire hose! I think we are actually taking a lot more from training this second time since we have already experienced cross-cultural ministry and can relate easily to what is being taught.

One of the things we do for training is to put into practice some of what we are learning right now. So each Sabbath, instead of going to one of the many local SDA churches, we meet in different homes and have a home style church. We take turns leading out in inductive Bible studies done in the style of the country we will be going to. This coming Sabbath will be our turn, so we will put out mats and will sit on the floor. We will have some Southeast Asian music in the background when people come in and will teach them the traditional greeting. We will also wear the traditional clothes and will teach everyone a song from the Great River People’s language. It’s going to be fun! Wish you could be there.
