Your God, My God

I listened with keen interest as the ER staff at the hospital asked my patient, who was very sick with dengue fever and malaria, the question, “What is your religion?” Oh, the joy it brought to my heart to hear Rusilin answer that her religion was my religion. Ruth told Naomi, “thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God” (Ruth 1:16, KJV). That is what I felt she was saying.

I first met Rusilin in 2020 when her nine-year-old daughter, Maylin, was diagnosed with rheumatic heart disease. You may have read Maylin’s story in the November 2020 edition of Adventist Frontiers magazine. Since then, Maylin has continued to receive treatment from us for her disease, and recently she has gained a little weight. And now, the family lives only about a five-minute walk from the road we frequently travel to pick others up for a ride to church on Sabbath. Please pray that Rusilin and Maylin will start coming to church with us regularly. Thank you for your prayer and support. God is using them to make a difference in the lives of people like Rusilin and Maylin.
