“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me” (John 12:32 KJV).
We hope you are enjoying the new design applied to our Adventist Frontiers magazine. Beyond redesigning the inside, we also stylized our masthead to emphasize “t” in “Frontiers” as a cross, uplifting Christ as the center of our mission to reach the unreached with the good news of His love, salvation and deliverance.
Our mission stories this month reflect Christ’s call to lift Him up before others. In some instances, large-scale efforts are undertaken, such as community-focused Christmas programs that center on the gift of Jesus (Song p. 24) or carrying out evangelistic campaigns that lead entire families to Him (Baur p. 10). Meanwhile other missionaries share small group approaches, such as Thanksgiving festivities, to express gratitude and introduce people to spiritual topics (Joy p. 19).
Lifting up Jesus often occurs through pairs, like when missionaries introduce those controlled by the spirits of demons to the One who is “stronger than every evil spirit” (Lincoln p. 7).
But most often, uplifting Jesus arises through individual efforts, such as giving Bible studies to encourage a new believer to prayerfully trust Jesus in all things (Williams p. 29), or by being ready in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2) like during a language-learning class, when a question on alien life afforded Michael Babienco an opportunity to answer and pique the interest of others (p. 18).
Even in places where missionaries cannot enter, Christ is there, lifting Himself up by appearing in dreams and drawing men and women unto His saving grace (Al-Masih p. 4,
Jonas p. 20 and Coal p. 38).
So let’s lift Christ up together throughout 2025, leading others to experience His love and receive abundant and eternal life.
