The van Zyl family, Neels, his wife Ilze and their children Zené & Ilne, are from South Africa/South Korea/New Zealand/Australia. Neels has a background in Architecture/Construction/Technical Sales and Construction Technology and as a Health Coach. He is currently busy with his Doctoral and PhD in Natural Medicine and has a passion for the health message. Ilze has a background in banking and has been faithfully homeschooling their three beautiful daughters over the last two decades.
Seventeen years ago, Neels and Ilze made a promise to God that they would go anywhere God opened the doors for them. The family has previously been in the mission field for three years (2008-2011) in South Korea. They had a burning in their hearts to go and reach the unreached when God called them back to the mission field to work for Him in Czechia.
Despite a lot of financial hardships, loss of family and many health issues, they remain steadfast in following the Lord’s leading. They have always felt that God was preparing them for a field that would be difficult at times, but one that needed to receive the gospel and the message of how much God cares for them. They will be going to Czechia with a heart full of love and a yearning to share the health message, the right arm of the gospel, a message fit for a time like this.
Neels’ choice to give up a successful career in architecture and construction technology consultancy to move forward with the medical missionary work was not difficult as he and his family understood that God will always be with them, and He will always take care of them as long as they will trust and obey.
The van Zyls cling to their favorite verse, “I will praise You; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are marvelous and my soul knows it very well” (Psalm 139:14 MKJV).
