Jonathan & Veronica Nicholaides

Career Missionaries since 2013, serving the Pnong people of Cambodia.

A little more then eight years ago, God called the Nicholaides family to work for Him in the Asian country of Cambodia. After God provided the funding they needed, Jonathan and Veronica boarded an airplane with their four children, Hannah, Bethany, Enoch and Josiah. For the first four years they served with the Great River People.
Currently they are living in the province of Mondulkiri, a lovely mountainous area on the north eastern side of Cambodia. They are working with three other missionary families and one single lady to reach the indigenous Pnong people. Jonathan is currently serving as the lead church planter on the Pnong Project.

The Pnong people are animists who live in fear and bondage to the spirits and yet they worship them at the same time. At weddings, funerals, planting time, harvest time, or any other momentous occasions, Pnong people perform rituals, such as animal sacrifices, in an effort to appease the spirits and avoid calamity. It is sad to see people living in fear. Those who have accepted Jesus don’t suddenly become rich and have easy lives, but their newfound joy and peace are a powerful witness to their families and communities.

The whole family is involved in friendship evangelism, connecting all the people around, neighbors, school staff, and villagers to develop relationships that give local people opportunities to see Christ’s love. The local school staff are a wonderful group of dedicated Christians who want to share Jesus in the community, too. We are privileged to witness the love and freedom that people, who once lived in darkness, experience through their new found faith in Jesus.

Enoch’s Fall

Surely the angels kept Enoch from serious injury! As we thought of what could have so easily been a devastating outcome, our hearts overflowed with gratitude for God’s protective care.

Chicks

If you are sick and hurting, remember how much God loves you and how valuable you are to Him. God loves each of His many children, and He will never stop loving you.

Time and Resources

Praise God that we get to be part of this! Jesus is coming soon. Let’s work together to use the time and resources we have to share this good news with the Pnong.
