Friday night, I had a troubling dream in which a black snake and a number of people were trying to kill me. In the dream, a voice was saying, “Don’t preach tomorrow.”

Time to Go
His time had come.
A crowd spills out of the house, lining the balconies of neighboring houses and filling the street. Inside the house, tears are shed as mourners say their final goodbyes. For the last time, friends accompany him as he leaves the home he loved. Gently, they carry his body on their shoulders. A lone conch-shell horn sounds again and again. His friends and family drape him with silk scarves as tokens of respect and honor.

A Good Education
“I‘m afraid this is going to be very difficult for you.“ Though the headmaster wasn‘t talking to me, I felt my stomach tighten. He looked imposing behind his wide, polished desk. He looked at the young girl sitting beside me and said sternly but kindly, “You‘re going to have to work very hard to succeed here.”

Finding Meaning
The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Author and the Finisher of our faith. That tells me that, in my work as a missionary, I neither really start anything in someones life nor finish it. My role is to be a rung in the ladder people are climbing toward God
