Hi, I’m Bethany, and I love chicks! Chicks are soft, cuddly and just so very cute. They are tiny and helpless and need someone to take care of them. I love being that someone, even when they also have a momma hen.

I always prepare a place for the momma hen to lay her eggs. When it gets close to hatching time, I prepare another clean place for them to move. As the chicks begin hatching, I stand by the nest and listen to the mother hen encouraging her little babies. It’s fun watching them hatch and listening as the chicks respond with little peeps of their own. I love showing them to my family.

I have plans for my chicks. If any die from disease or a predator, it nearly breaks my heart. I compare my love for my chicks to our Savior’s extraordinary love for us. The Bible says in Psalm 139:13, 16, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb . . . Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”

God gets everything ready for us. He forms us. And He has great plans for us! God even talks to us and loves it when we respond, just like the mother hen and her babies. We are so very precious to Him. When we get sick because of sin or get caught in Satan’s traps, it causes Him great pain. If you are sick and hurting, remember how much God loves you and how valuable you are to Him. God loves each of His many children, and He will never stop loving you.
