For the Sake of the Lost

Explorers risk life and limb to go where no one else has gone, or to find things that no one has found. They endure all kinds of hardship, privation and discomfort as they strive for the fame and wealth that accompanies success.

Instead of seeking for temporary treasures, how about joining in seeking a lost treasure that has already been bought with an immeasurable price? No matter who or where we are, we are called to work together with God to tell others the Good News of a soon-coming Savior. While God on some occasions uses angels, He prefers to use us to reach other people for Him. The Bible makes it clear that wherever we are, whether at home or halfway around the world, the call is the same. We all should seek to find ways to tell others that God loves them.

So, what are you willing to risk for the One who risked all of Heaven for you? Maybe it’s your sense of comfort, or a risk of ridicule. Whatever the risk, God has called each of His disciples to take up their cross and follow Him. God doesn’t call every one of us to go to some far-off mission field, but He does call each of us to risk everything for Him. What is holding you back from reaching out to people around you?

There is a great work still to be done in this world. It isn’t just for missionaries, pastors or evangelists, it is a call for each one of us to do what we can to reach out to a lost and dying world.
