“We are not too sure we should be going to Czechia,” we told our supervisor in January during our AFM orientation. It was not that we doubted the call to mission work—only that we remained uncertain where the Lord wanted us to serve. We knew we could not decide without His clear direction.
When we received the long list of possible projects—around forty—we brought it before the Lord in prayer. Only three seemed to tug at our hearts. “What should we do next?” we wondered aloud.
“Why not cast lots?” came the suggestion to our minds. As we did so, the first lot pointed to one project, but peace did not follow. We tried again, and still felt the same hesitancy.
Each time we leaned toward a decision, the same question kept rising: “But who will reach the other two if we choose this one?”
Of course, we could not be on three continents at once. Therefore, we prayed again, surrendering the decision fully to God. This time, a deep peace about Czechia settled over us. The next morning, as we connected with other missionaries and staff, we learned that God had already placed the other two projects on the hearts of others. In that moment, the Lord gently reminded us that these are His projects, and it is He who will see to the fulfillment of His promise in Matthew 24:14.
As we travel across the U.S. to finish our fundraising, we carry that same reminder close to our hearts: the Great Commission is not ours, but Christ’s. We simply have the privilege of partnering with Him. You, too, have the option of partnering in this work. Will you prayerfully consider helping us reach our financial goals, so that together, we can bring the hope of Jesus to the people of Czechia?
