We are the Wentzel family, passionate followers of God, dedicated to sharing the Three Angels’ Message so that others can experience the freedom, peace and joy we have found in Christ. Our family consists of Mauritz, Sumarie, Joshua, Kaleb and our soon-to-arrive baby girl, Daniyél.
Our journey began during Mauritz’s final year of mechanical engineering studies when we got married and felt God planting a hunger for missions in our hearts. After completing this degree, we embarked on a solo, God-led mission trip to Malawi. There the Lord transformed us completely. We started studying the Sabbath doctrine for ourselves, and the Lord sent Sabbath-keeping non-Adventists across our path to teach us even more. They also gave us numerous other Bible studies, igniting our yearlong search for the true church, one that believed what the Bible taught. It was then that we joined the Adventist Church.
Feeling called to serve even more deeply, we pursued full-time theology studies. After the first year, the call to missions reignited, and through prayer and God’s guidance, we applied to serve with AFM. This journey has been a fast-tracked adventure with the Lord, and we are eager to see what He has in store for us.
We feel a clear call to reach the people of the Czech Republic. With a combined population of over 16 million in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, there are only 9,715 Adventists in these nations, where atheism and non-religious beliefs dominate. We are excited to be used by God to help change these statistics, bringing the hope and transformation we have experienced to others so they, too, can have the blessing and privilege of being His children, waiting together for those beautiful and loud trumpet sounds when our Savior returns.
Matthew 24:15: “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
We are humbled to be part of God’s mission and eagerly anticipate the ways He will work through us and in us in the Czech Republic.
