The Life-changing Dream

Over the past six years, our AFM Dendi team has been praying continually that God will give dreams and visions to our Muslim friends. God has been answering powerfully! Touara, a Dendi woman in her early twenties, is a recent example.
It all began with a conversation Touara had with a former classmate who told her about his new Christian faith and his missionary work. That night, before going to bed, Touara asked God to give her a dream. God answered her prayer and gave her a three-part dream.

“In my dream, I was looking for a job, and I met a woman who offered to employ me. She seated me along with other ladies in a big hall, two-by-two in a big circle. In front of each pair of people there were meats of all kinds—mostly unclean. The woman told us to dance and eat the meat. Others in the circle began to eat and dance, but when I picked up the meat, it began to suck blood from my hands, so I threw it away. The woman hit me with a rope, and the others urged me to eat and dance, but I was firm in my decision. I would rather die than take part in this evil ritual. I began to run away, and the lady ran after me with a syringe full of blood, trying to inject me. She was about to catch me when somebody called from behind her, and she stopped pursuing me.

“I woke up scared and agitated about the dream, but I knew the story was not finished, so I lay down again, asking God to continue the dream. To my surprise, it continued from where it had stopped. I found myself alone with shining blue stars around my neck. Deciding to return to the hall to help the others, I found it was full of young men now. I prayed for them in the name of Jesus Christ (something I had never known how to do before), and they were freed from the evil ritual. I encouraged them to get rid of all their charms and idols, and they followed me out. Our group grew, and we went from place to place, praying for people and freeing them from various types of bondage.

“At this point I awoke again, this time filled with joy. Still, I knew the story was not finished, so I prayed again that God would allow me to finish the dream. Again, my dream continued where it had left off. Our evangelism group was now on horses, which had been given us to speed us on our urgent task.

“On our way to free more captives, we came to a river. Behind us, our enemies were closing in. God led me to pray, and our horses ran across the surface of the water. We were very happy and assured that God was with us. But our enemies were also able to cross the river, and they set traps for us, which we were able to escape with God’s help. I saw my aunt among our enemies, and I called out to her, but then I woke up a third time.

“Immediately, I knew I must lie back down, and the dream continued. My aunt was trapped along with many others, but I prayed for her, and she and the others were delivered and joined us. Finally, the dream ended, and I woke up exhausted but filled with certainty that God was calling me to His service to preach the Gospel of Christ.”

Touara came to our church group a few weeks ago and has been faithfully attending our meetings. After she told us her dream, we invited her to join our lay worker team. She is now learning how to pray and studying the Gospel God has called her to preach. Please pray for Touara as she prepares to be a Gospel worker. God bless you for your prayers and support!
